World Interplay 2009 in Cairns / Australien
Das Festival World Interplay ist mal wieder ungezogen. Nachdem es seine Anfänge in Sydney und Melbourne nahm, fand das Autorentreffen seit 1995
an der James Cook University in Townsville / Queensland statt. 2009 bot sich nun erstmals die nördlicher gelegene Tropenstadt Cairns an.
Hier kooperierte Interplay mit dem Theater JUTE und dem "Australian Theatre for Young People". Durch die Unterstützung des Goethe
Instituts war es erneut möglich, eine dreiköpfige Delegation aus Deutschland zu entsenden. Ihr gehörten an Laura Naumann (Hildesheim) und
Timo Kocielnik (Hamburg) sowie die Tutorin Nora Mansmann (Berlin).

Interplay Europe 2008 in Utrecht / Niederlande
Das 7. Interplay Europe Festival fand an der Hochschule der Künste in Utrecht, Niederlande statt. Vom 5. bis 13. Juli 2008
trafen sich 41 junge Autoren mit 17 Tutoren und arbeiteten an den Theaterstücken der Teilnehmerinnen und Teilnehmer.
Aus Deutschland waren dabei Azar Mortazavi-Manesh (Hildesheim) und Roman Senkl (Berlin) sowie die beiden Tutoren
Henning Fangauf (Frankfurt am Main) und Kristo Sagor (Berlin).
Azar Mortazavi-Manesh und Roman Sekl nahmen an Interplay Europe 2008 teil.

World Interplay 2007 in Townsville / Australien
Vom 3. bis 17. Juli 2007 fand an der James Cook University in Townsville / Australien das 10. Festival of Young Playwrights
"World Interplay" statt. Nahezu 50 junge Dramatikerinnen und Dramatiker und 20 Tutoren aus 17 Ländern nahmen an dem Treffen teil.
Der Delegation aus Deutschland gehörten die Autoren Anne Nather (Berlin) und Martin Kordic (Hildesheim) sowie
Henning Fangauf (Frankfurt am Main) an.

Interplay Europe 06 Festival of Young European Playwrights in Schaan, Liechtenstein
This year´s Festival of Young European Playwrights "Interplay Europe 06" took place from 18 to 25 June 2006 in
the city of Schaan in the principality of Liechtenstein. Local organisers are ASSITEJ Liechtenstein in cooperation with Theater am Kirchplatz (Schaan) and
the European Network Interplay Europe e.V., based in Frankfurt am Main. Artistic Director was Henning Fangauf, Chairperson of Interplay Europe e.V. ,
Georg Biedermann, President of ASSITEJ Liechtenstein was the Program Director. A further partner of the festival was the Austrian Theatre Festival "Luaga & Losna"
in Nenzing.
28 Playwrights and 14 Tutors from 15 countries created Interplay Europe 06. Their emerging work has been discussed and workshopped by professional tutors and
theatre experts in an exciting and innovative program. This meeting in Liechtenstein was the sixth Interplay Europe Festival. Since 1996 it has been held every
two years, firstly in Mainz (Germany), then Berlin, Warszawa, P?cz (Hungary) and Athens. Interplay Europe cooperates closely with the worldwide Festival for Young
Playwrights, World Interplay, in Australia.

"Interplay" ist für mich wie eine Droge, wie Rock`n Roll und Freundschaft, Konzentration und Kultur,
Veränderung und Verbesserung.
Stell dir vor, 70 Menschen aus verschiedensten Nationen dieser Welt kommen zusammen, um sich über Literatur,
über Theater und über ihr Schreiben auszutauschen und von einander zu lernen. Stell dir vor, du vergisst,
wo du bist, was du vorher getan hast und was deine Pläne sind, um dich wie auf einer kleinen Insel zu
fühlen, zusammen mit Menschen, die alle dasselbe wollen wie du: Für das Theater leben und schreiben.
Ein Wochenende haben wir tatsächlich gemeinsam auf einer Insel (Magnetic Island) verbracht, um uns alle
besser kennen zu lernen und um Landschaft und Natur zu genießen.
Land und Leute waren so unglaublich, dass ich sagen kann: "Interplay" hat mich in eine Art Rauschzustand
versetzt.

More than 50 Delegates from 14 European countries took part in Interplay Europe Festival 2004 in Athens. It was organised by our Greek Representative, Nicholas Kamtis
and his Theatre "Aeroplio"
World Interplay 2003 in Townsville / Australia
The 8th International Festival of Young Playwrights "World Interplay 2003" took place from 7 to 20 July at James Cook
University in Townsville / Australia. 50 Young playwrights from 23 nations took part in this event.
The German delegation was supported by the Goethe-Institute.
Henning Fangauf, Jannis Klasing, Paul Brodowsky, Meike Hauck and Lutz Hübner at Cowshed Theatre in Townsville.
Wenn Menschen verschiendener Kulturen wie bei World Interplay in Australien ins Gespräch kommen, sich also als
faktische Persönlichkeiten gegenüberstehen und nicht als Aus- und Inländer, dann zeigt sich, dass
kultureller Austausch nicht nur Sinn macht, sondern Not tut und selbstverständlich gehört. Menschen gehören
nicht integriert, sondern zusammengebracht. Schön noch, wenn sie ein Thema eint! Und sei es nur das Theater.
"Es war erhellend zu bemerken, dass es auch andere junge Menschen gibt, die fürs Theater schreiben.
Denn wenn ich mir die Spielpläne so anschaue, beschleicht mich regelmäßig das Gefühl,
dass es die gar nicht gibt. Australien hat mich eines besseren belehrt. Danke dafür! INTERPLAY ROCKS! FOREVER!"
